Maureen founded Deadpan Exotics out of a lifelong love for reptiles and invertebrates. What started as a personal obsession became a shop built on respect for the animals, straight talk for keepers, and the simple promise to do things the right way.

Our shop mascot! Charlotte is where it all started. One small spider with big attitude turned curiosity into a full-blown obsession and then into Deadpan Exotics. She’s photogenic, unbothered, and perfectly happy being the reason this shop exists.

Nick is the quiet engine of Deadpan Exotics. An electrician with a maker’s mindset, he keeps the operation calm and reliable so the animals (and the humans) can breathe easy. He turns plans into smooth, working reality and sets the tone for organized, low-stress days in the shop and at expos.
